kinney-recruiting-428-300×131-300×131We are working closely with the family office of one of the most successful private equity investors of all time to fill the role of Chief Legal Counsel.

This is the most senior legal role in the organization. While this investor will have legal oversight at the family office, the firm’s current general counsel is being promoted into a different operational role. He will be available for advice and support. Because of this, the role is focused on candidates with 4 to 7 years of experience, preferably at a top-ranked law firm.

The transactions that will likely come under the successful candidate’s purview will predominately be EMEA-related. While the position will be based in NYC, at least quarterly travel to the UK or other destinations should be expected. This is NOT a remote role. The principals of this firm expect that the person who will fill this role will be in the office in Midtown Manhattan most days of the week. Still, self motivation is an important attribute for this position. There will not be a playbook. If there is an issue that comes up, it will be expected that the person filling this role will be able to step up, figure out how to handle it, and execute.

Compensation for this role will be in line with top law firm compensation, with the additional prospect of exit-related bonuses as the firm rolls out of its investments. If you have top academics and transactional work experience at a top firm, but you are looking for a transition into a first-class in house role, please get in touch with us for more information by sending a note to newyork@kinneyrecruiting.com and referencing “Midtown Family Office.”

We’d love to hear from you!
