Time is money billable hoursBiglaw firms seemed to have cracked the code on what it takes these days to be considered as a member of the elite, and as it turns out, the secret isn’t really that secret. A Cravath salary match is what it will take to propel your firm into the Biglaw stratosphere during this hot lateral market, and the latest firm to do so is Haynes & Boone.

Sources say the firm — which brought in $430,200,000 gross revenue in 2020, landing it at #93 in the most recent Am Law 100 — doesn’t usually send out mass emails to reflect compensation or bonus news, but it looks like a Cravath match has been made. “From what I can tell (talking to associates in multiple classes), it is a Cravath match at all levels,” said a tipster. “Everyone is thrilled that HB continues to match the market.”

That said, here’s what the salary scale now looks like at the firm:

Class of 2021: $215,000
Class of 2020: $225,000
Class of 2019: $250,000
Class of 2018: $295,000
Class of 2017: $345,000
Class of 2016: $370,000
Class of 2015: $400,000
Class of 2014: $415,000

Congratulations to everyone at Haynes & Boone!

Remember everyone, we depend on your tips to stay on top of this stuff. So when your firm matches, please text us (646-820-8477) or email us (subject line: “[Firm Name] Matches Cravath”). Please include the memo if available. You can take a photo of the memo and send it via text or email if you don’t want to forward the original PDF or Word file.

And if you’d like to sign up for ATL’s Bonus Alerts (which is the alert list we’ll also use for salary announcements), please scroll down and enter your email address in the box below this post.
