I am thrilled to report that tomorrow is the fourth anniversary of the launch of my LawNext podcast.

I say thrilled because, at the time I launched it, it felt like a gamble.

At that point, I had been cohosting a very successful podcast for 13 years, Lawyer 2 Lawyer, with my long-time friend J. Craig Williams. We were the very first podcast to be produced by the Legal Talk Network and the longest-running podcast in law. We had regular listeners around the world.

But I really wanted to take a deeper dive into innovation in law. So I decided to take the plunge and go off on my own with a podcast that would focus on the “innovators and entrepreneurs who are driving what’s next in law.”

One hundred and seventy-six episodes later, I can now say it was one of the best decisions I ever made.

Virtually every week for the past four years, I have had the great privilege of sitting down with some of the leading thinkers and doers in legal tech and innovation.

I have spoken with entrepreneurs, judges, academics, investors, bar leaders, and legal trailblazers of every ilk. I’ve recorded from as far away as Moscow and as close to home as my desktop.

(Here’s a quick thumbnail view of every episode I’ve done.)

As if those conversations were not reward enough, an additional reward for me has been the opportunity to build this in partnership with my son Ben Ambrogi.

With a background in audio and video production, he helped me launch the podcast and has served ever since as its producer.

That partnership has grown into a broader working relationship that culminated this year in our cofounding of the LawNext Legal Technology Directory.

I am also indebted to the sponsors who have supported LawNext over these four years — particularly Paradigm, which has been a loyal sponsor for nearly two years, along with its suite of practice management products PracticePanther, Bill4Time, and MerusCase, and e-payments platform Headnote. the payments platform Headnote; and the legal accounting software TrustBooks, whi

Of course, a podcast is nothing without listeners. I am most grateful for and indebted to everyone who took the time to listen, even to just a single episode.

It is all of you who have made my gamble pay off.
