DeWalt Announces Recall of Certain Chainsaws Over Injury Hazard Concerns

DeWalt is recalling certain chainsaws that may pose an injury hazard to users.

If you have a DeWalt chainsaw, listen up. Earlier this week, the company announced a recall for certain chainsaws after receiving reports that “they could keep running even when switched off, posing an injury hazard to users.”

At the moment, the recall included more than 8,000 DeWalt DWCS600 Type 1 18-inch 15-amp corded chain saws, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The federal agency further noted that the chain saws “can remain running when the switch is on the off position or turn on when plugged in, posing an injury hazard to the user.”

The saws were available for purchase at a handful of tool and hardware supply stores across the country from June 2021 to November 2021. It’s important to note, however, that the only chainsaws included in the recall have date codes 2021 23-H5 to 2021 40-H5. The date code can be found on the bottom of the saws.

Fortunately, there have been no injuries reported, though consumers are being advised to stop using the saws immediately.
