Ed. note: Welcome to our daily feature, Trivia Question of the Day!

Bloomberg Law’s most recent State of Practice survey asked nearly 300 attorneys to estimate the starting salaries for first-year associates at their firms, and comment on whether they believe the first-years are being overcompensated, undercompensated, or appropriately compensated, based on their salaries and bonuses. What percentage of respondents believe that first-years are inappropriately compensated?

Hint: Attorneys from across the country estimated that the average starting salary for first-years at their firms is $139,945. There’s a difference of more than $75,000 between this figure and Biglaw’s new starting salary.

See the answer on the next page.
