reynen court logoIt’s like a quality romantic comedy. Reynen Court wanted some new executive firepower and realized the right matches were right beside it all along.

Christian Lang, Reynen Court’s previous head of strategy, will assume the role of President and Chief Operating Officer while Lodewijk Bonebakker, who has been heading up operations and security, will become the Chief Compliance and Security Officer. Both will report to CEO Andrew Klein.

Reynen Court’s model of providing third-party applications within a single platform has garnered the company big name partnerships on both the Biglaw and in-house side. From that base, the company eyes further expansion — it recently launched an online public stock offering to raise growth capital — and these promotions are aimed with that in mind. Lang will take on increased responsibility for relationship management and support, while Bonebakker adds the task of maturing Reynen Court’s compliance policies to his security duties.

Long a fixture on the New York Legal Tech scene and founder of the NY Legal Tech Meetup, Lang’s elevation reflects his critical role in Reynen Court’s journey.

“A former Davis Polk attorney and a true leader in the global legal tech community, Christian has played an instrumental role in establishing Reynen Court,” said founder and CEO Andrew D Klein. “It is no exaggeration to say he is uniquely qualified to accelerate further development on both sides of the first-of-its-kind platform we are now scaling.”

The promotion of Bonebakker — also known as Bones — earned praise from clients:

“In just a few short years, Reynen Court has gained strong traction with some of the most demanding legal organizations, and a good share of the credit for that accomplishment lies with Bones,” commented Rene Mendoza, CIO at Latham & Watkins, another customer and shareholder. “We support fully the company’s doubling down on its security and compliance capabilities by focusing Bones’ time and talents on this important aspect of the business.”

Is there a Spock on the team? I feel like they should lean into this. They are attempting to boldly go where no legal technology has gone before, right?
