TAMPA, FL — Shumaker, a premier national law firm, has added two new associates to its team. Regan S. Jones and Preston A. Whittemore have joined Shumaker to support the firm’s expanding Litigation and Disputes and Corporate, Tax and Transactions Service Lines.
Regan joins Shumaker’s Litigation and Disputes Service Line, where she focuses her practice on Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases and related adversary cases. Her background includes vigorously representing trustees, creditors, and debtors in matters such as claim objections, preference disputes, fraudulent transfers, plan confirmation proceedings, and motion practice. Prior to joining Shumaker, Regan worked for a national law firm in Houston, Texas as part of its bankruptcy and complex litigation practice areas.
Preston brings his proficiency in transaction and general business tax planning and structuring, with a particular focus on corporate and partnership taxation, to Shumaker’s Corporate, Tax and Transactions Service Line. Prior to joining Shumaker, Preston spent five years working for a Big Four accounting firm, where he advised a variety of clients, including large, multinational corporations, on pre- and post-transaction tax structuring, restructuring, investments and divestitures, and tax diligence. Preston’s mergers and acquisitions background is a value added to his clients.
