There are actually a lot of things you can call a lawyer: attorney, counselor, esquire… plus the job specific titles like prosecutor, solicitor, barrister. The list is long (but don’t call them doctor, that’s just dumb.)
You may think with all these rhetorical options, no more are needed. There was a time, not so long ago, when I would have agreed. But then I heard the term “attack librarian.” Combining the penchant for research with an argumentative streak is a brilliant move. And honestly, attack librarian is the platonic ideal of lawyering.
