Everything is bigger in Texas, including Biglaw’s presence. Yet another Biglaw firm is opening up an office in the Lone Star State, and this time, it’s bringing that big D energy — Dallas, that is.
Willkie Farr & Gallagher — a firm that brought in $1,500,000,000 gross revenue in 2023, putting it at No. 30 in the most recent Am Law 100 — is opening its latest office with the help of three privatee equity partners who are lateraling over from Haynes and Boone. Seven partners in total will launch the firm’s Dallas office, including four private equity partners from Willkie’s Houston office.
As noted by the American Lawyer, Willkie Chairman Thomas Cerabino said this of the firm’s Texas strategy in a press release:
“While we’ve been in Texas for more than a decade, the decision to open a second Texas office in Dallas reflects Willkie’s commitment to the region, as well as the needs of our clients. Our Texas platform is focused on private equity, M&A and transactional work, in the energy sector and non-energy related sectors.”
The Dallas outpost will be Willkie’s 15th office. Congratulations to the firm on its latest offering in the “dynamic and thriving market” that is Texas!
